“I met Christine in her bridal dress shop, Urban Set Bride while she helped me find my wedding gown. As I stood there half naked awaiting the next dress, she made small talk with me and asked about what remaining vendors I needed to book for my wedding. I jokingly said “an officiant” because we’d been looking and didn’t know anyone who could help us with that. “Christine is a force of nature in her own right — strong, confident, and unapologetic. She has an incredible ability to take hold of a space, she is a leader, and a born storyteller. It was important to us to find someone that could tell our love story AND meet us where we were. It felt like a lot of pressure to put on one of our family members or friends, and we weren’t sure that a leader of faith felt authentic when we weren’t rooted in a congregation.
Like many modern couples, we broke a few traditions, brought a few along with us, and even ushered in some of our own. It surprised many of our close family and friends, that our day which was so rooted in family nostalgia, was “narrated” by someone we’d only met during our planning process. You would never had known this, of course, as she delivered an incredibly authentic, comfortable, familiar, and beautifully written ceremony. It was scary to give her the reins, someone we’d only chatted and shared drinks with over the previous few months.

We are so grateful that she opened up to us as we did to her, which made her guidance and “sermon” for our favorite day indelible. We are still amazed at her ability to speak to our great love for each other, the grief and challenges that our love grew through, and the perfect amount of humor to round out the sniffles.
Our only advice to working with Christine — don’t let her fierce demeanor or local stardom intimidate or fool you; she is a total softy, and as she says, just a girl! A queen, yes, but also a romantic queen. Christine has a massive heart in the best ways; she is respectful of boundaries, family dynamics, and above all else, the wishes of the happy couple. It takes an incredible amount of strength and discipline to so eloquently deliver the love and loss that comes with loving someone forever, and we will always be grateful for the role she has played in our marriage.”
